I once asked my friend and cancer buddy Bryce do we really just return to our desk jobs after surviving cancer? He responded so calmly, Haritha I didn’t have time to think about that, so we made a pact that we would give it a good thought and do something to really give ourselves permission to do what bring us joy. Sadly Bryce passed away and our conversation lives in my head everyday. I miss him so dearly.
I gave myself permission to take a break from a 25 year corporate career to explore possibilities creating beautiful things. If you leave me to my own devices I’d be a flower gardener, a costume designer, a calligrapher, a botanical illustrator and a knitter. All have a common theme, I wanted to work with my hands. So I gave myself the summer of ’25 to play and create. I signed up for a summer intensive Floral Design program with New York Botanical Gardens.
This is my digital journal of my learning and building something new. Be kind as I am no seasoned professional but a budding one.
For the love of creating.
